Our shellfish grow in the pristine waters around Albany in the south west of Western Australia, about 450km south of Perth. Our practices are designed around sustainable aquaculture, a way to create thriving habitats, sequester carbon from the atmosphere and offer sustainable and responsibly sourced eating choices.

Mistaken Island

Situated in King George Sound, just 5 km south east of Albany, the oceanic waters of the Southern Ocean around Mistaken Island host the perfect growing conditions for the Akoya. The rugged coastline, white sand beaches and stunning waters create a picture perfect setting for our Akoya farm.

Oyster Harbour

Fed by fresh waters from the King & Kalgan Rivers and bordering with the saltwater of the Southern Ocean, Oyster Harbour presents nutrient rich growing conditions for Albany Rock Oysters. Oyster Harbour is the only estuary on the south coast of Western Australia permanently open to the ocean.

As Oyster Harbour is tidal and some of our leases are in very shallow water we have to plan our harvest times carefully around the tides.

In 2022 as part of our community shoreline cleanup initiative our team collected a total of 220kg of rubbish from around Oyster Harbour and Emu Point.

Green Island in the middle of Oyster Harbour is a breeding ground for pelicans.

The average water temperature is 18°C in winter and 23°C in summer.
